I adopted the little white mini poodle
from you last August. We changed her
name from FiFi to Phoebe. We could not
be happier! Everyone who comes over
says she acts like she has been here
for years! We just cannot imagine why
anyyone would get rid of such a sweet,
gentle, playful, quiet little pup. My
girls, who are ages 5 and 7 just adore
her, and she tolerates them without
question. The 5-yr-old, Kara, and
Phoebe are very special friends; she
sleeps on her bed. Last night both of
our girls were gone to a sleep-over,
and I told my husband I wasn't sure
where Phoebe would sleep. I assumed
she would come join us in our bed. Not
so. Sure enough, we went to bed and
she was in Kara's bed, waiting for
her. She slept there all night long
without her companion. It was so
sweet. We could not have asked for a
more perfect dog for our family. Thank
you for helping us find our "baby". We
have been so delighted with our
experience with you, I have
recommended you to many friends and
neighbors.
Thanks so much! You are special!

Thank you so much for the privalage of
having Adila as a member of our
family! It Has been 24 hours since we
brought her home. She feels like she
has been here all along. Her
transition in our home has been so
smooth. She even made her self
comfortable her first day by laying on
the couch (with our permission of
course) her head on a pillow and
taking a nap. We have fallen so
much in love with her already.
Our children love playing with her and
she keeps them busy with playing along
with them. I am just totally amazed at
how smooth she is fitting in our home,
We have wanted a bully for so many
years and done the research but never
realized that they could be this much
of a joy. Now I understand why
bully fans are hooked for life. I also
have never seen such friendly people
with Mitzi (Adila's foster mommy) and
Mary with making sure she is doing
alright, and adjusting well. You
girls are doing such a wonderful thing
for these animals and give so much of
your time and heart to them and
potential adoptee's. Thank so
much we could never thank you enough
for bringing Adila and us together.
You will be blessed for all you do for
them all. Thank you so much and would
be honored to give you updates:)
Thank you The White Family. Aaron,
Jennifer, Anthony ,Mariah & Adila

I just
wanted to let you know that Layla is doing great! The girls
absolutely love her. She is actually going to the door when
she has to go poop…which is awesome! She is a quick
learner! The first night, she only whined for about 20
minutes then slept all night. She loves the girls snoopy,
so they said she can sleep with it. She is eating and
drinking very well. She does have a little bit of a cough
that I am going to call the vet about (could be kennel
cough, like you said). Other than that…things are going
good. I have attached some pics of her playing with the
girls and sleeping!
Thanks
again for helping us find our first dog! I know she is
going to be a great addition to our family!Tracie

I just wanted to take a moment out of my day to
say THANKS!!!! Maxx has become a member of the family already. One
minute he is sitting on my lap and the next he is chasing either our
other dog or one of the cats. He loves it. He stares into the glass
of our “fake” fireplace and barks at himself (which we think is
hilarious). He has a special bond with our son Caden, they even like
to “share” at snack time. He sleeps between my wife and myself every
night, which took me some time to get used to since I know sleep with
2 bed hogs. My daughter was so excited to meet him and loves the fact
that he is a lap dog. For some reason he has really taken to me
(which I tried to avoid, since all of the other animals are the same),
but he still spends time with the entire family. He is no longer
going in the carrier while we are gone. He had one accident the first
day we tried it and haven’t had one since. Well I’m at work, so I
better keep this short….. Thanks again and if we are ever in the
market for another dog, we will definitely look you up. Sorry for no
pics, but I’m at work with no access to our home PC.
Thank Again,
Don

I just wanted to send you a note to say thank you so much for rescuing
little Ben (we have renamed him Clark). It is an amazing thing that you do!
I'm sure you know we picked him up Friday from Marsha and Brigit. He is
acclimating to his new family and we just love him to pieces. As you can see in
the attached photo, he's not been shy about forcing his big sister, Wrigley, the
boxer, to snuggle with him!
I really cannot thank you enough.
Tricia Owens

I wanted to give you a quick update on McKinsey. After much family
deliberation, and finally giving in to the fact that it was my husband's
turn to name a pet, we renamed McKinsey - Samantha (which means
"listener"). So now we have Samantha and Sally!
Samantha has adjusted very well to her new home, and she and Sally are
really getting along well! We are working hard to make sure that Sally
is still the alpha female, but Samantha is really coming out of her
shell and beginning to show her sweet little personality! She is trying
to acquaint herself with our two kitties, who regard her as a general
annoyance (but then again, they regard ME as a general annoyance!).
Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to adopt little
Samantha...she has already stolen our hearts and we are so looking
forward to getting to know her more!
We will keep in touch with more pictures as she continues to grow.
Thanks again...

I thought you would like to see a few photos of Maya. It has been
about 18 months since we adopted her. We could not have asked for
a better dog. She has been wonderful. She is great with kids and
loves to play everyday with the other neighborhood dogs. The vet
says she is in perfect health. People are genuinely surprised
when we tell them she was a rescue dog. That is a credit to you
and your organization for the great work that you do in providing
these animals with great homes. You've made a lot of pet owners
who have adopted from you very happy because of the animals that
you have rescued.
Thank you again for your work and for Maya. She has certainly
enriched our lives.

Just wanted
to send you a picture of Autumn, now 5 1/2 months old. She is precious and we
love her personality. She's doing great on housetraining and obedience training.
She's about 13 pounds now, vs. 6 pounds when we got her.
Hope you had a great Christmas.
Sheryl

Just thought you might like an update on Kalob. He is doing great and seems
to be really happy. It took a little longer then I thought for his big sister to
get used to him being around, but they are doing pretty well together. Kalob is
about the happiest dog I've ever seen and always is looking to play.
Thanks again for all you do!!!!

We just wanted to send you a quick update
on Ava (formerly Makayla) that we got from Pals for Paws back on April
25, 2009.
As you can see from the attached picture,
she is a proud and happy Rottweiler. After a summer of training
classes, she recently passed her AKC Canine Good Citizen certification
and is just the love of our life and everyone she comes in contact
with. We are considering starting "therapy dog certification" classes
for her soon.
Thanks again for everything you do. We
hope to look for a companion for Ava sometime this Spring, so if
another friendly Rottie comes your way, let us know!
Sincerely
Hello,
A little over a month ago we adopted a dog, Duke aka Prince, now named Henry
from you at the Pet Expo in Indianapolis. We wanted to let you know how much
happiness this dog has brought our family. He transitioned well and is happy and
healthy. He has a big yard to run around in, plays with our 2 young girls, goes
almost daily to the dog park, loves to go on weekend hikes, is completing a
training course (just for some fine tuning) and has become an integral part of
our lives! Thank you so much for all you do and for having played a part in
bring Henry into our lives,
Sincerely,
The Letko Family

Just wanted to give you an update on Duke, who was in foster care with
"Nicole" in Indiana. We brought him back to Des Moines, IA with us the first
week in August. There are so many things we could tell you about him, but the
shortest version is-we love him to pieces! He is a happy well-adjusted spoiled
little guy. He has made many friends in the neighborhood-children, adults,
canine and the feline variety as well. In fact, one of his best buddies is
"Princess Leah"-the long-haired cat who thinks she's the princess of the
neighborhood. She rubs up against Duke and he loves it. They even touch noses.
His other friends are Sampson, the german shephard/great dane mix who was also a
rescue dog and is owned by one of my best friends; Daisy and Molly the
neighbor's French Bulldogs; Daisy the min-pin who lives just a couple of houses
away; Bailey, the golden retriever, and Paws and Darby the white poodles. Duke
has such a fan club, that we mailed out dog bones in our Christmas cards, to
those on our Christmas list who have dogs. Of course, the bones were from Duke,
not us;)
Duke loves car rides, cuddling with us and of course sleeping in our beds with
us; going through the coffee drive-thru with me and getting a dog bone from
staff; chasing his tennis ball; playing with his favorite "babies'-his most
favorite being the stuffed skunk; and just in general entertaining all of us. He
gets attention from everybody. He couldn't be a better fit for our family.
We hope you enjoy the pics. Please feel free to forward them to Duke's previous
owner. All we know is that they thought she had to give him up due to breast
cancer. You can also forward them to his previous foster home, Nicole. Thanks
for all you do for the animals!
Melanie Wenzel

Here is an update on Phoebe, we
got her about 5 years ago. She is
fine and still a lap dog. Not that
she minds all the attention.
Thank you
Lela & Becky
What to be thankful for (Hope)
Just another update, Hope is still the center
of my life and moved with me in Feb of 09 to
Marietta GA She makes friends wherever she
goes and is usually receiving more than her
share of attention.. She lives to play ball
and enjoys my grandchildren immensely. Will
send a photo to put in your file of success
stories. Life has been a struugle for me
physically but Hope keeps my spirits up and
give me a reason to smile over and over she
gives so much to my life.
Barb Kramer,

Wow! Thank you, I thought it would be a long
shot. We love having her around so much. I
have been going to dog training classes with
her since shortly after she came home with
us. She is so sweet and our trainer can't
believe such a beautiful (looks and behavior)
dog was a rescue. So, thank you again for
connecting us with her. I can't imagine life
with out her!

Mary Helen,
We just love our sweet Norman. The day before
we adopted him we had to put our 12 1/2 year
old Lab to sleep. It was very hard, and we
sure miss her. Norman made us laugh and feel
good again. He is adorable. Our beaglel, Jack,
loves him as well. They run and chase each
other in our fenced in back yard, and then
come in to rest for awhile.
Thank you.
Best wishes always,
Tammi Burkart

I just want you to know, it was 11 months ago
today that I adopted “”Louise” from you and
she is doing wonderfully. Her name now is
Sadie Louise and I have attached a photo of
her smiling and looking wonderful. This was
taken by the Groomer when I had her all
cleaned up for the 4th of July
Holiday. She loves her big yard and I take her
to the park as often as I can where she runs
around with Sammy. They get along beautifully
and if they are separated for any reason they
miss each other. Sadie has learned how to give
a “High Five” and to “Shake”. She has trouble
with begging but will jump up for a treat. I
am going to try to teach her roll over next.
She is the best! She was timid when I first
got her, like who ever had her before used to
hit her but I think she realizes now that she
will never be hit again and trusts me. She can
still be skittish when things fall or some
strange noise or something like that but not
as bad as she used to be. She is a great
loving dog and I just love her so much. Thank
you again for finding her, saving her, and
allowing me to adopt her. We will celebrate
our one year anniversary next month, the first
of many happy years together.
Take care,
Brenda, Sammy, and Sadie Crump

Hi, my name is Rick Atkins and I adopted GeGe from you at
the PetSmart in Noblesville back in July. She is a
brindle English Bulldog. Her name is now BU –
pronounced Boo – for Butler University where I am an
alumnus. She has adjusted well to our home and has
become great friends with Chowder – our Chihuahua mix we
already had. If you remember she was 82 lbs. when we
got her and could hardly move. She is down to 59 lbs and
it is amazing the difference it has made!! She loves our
walks and now that she can move she and Chowder play all
the time, naturally the more she loses the more she can
play so once the weight started coming off it became a
compounding effect with the additional exercise. I told
my wife the first week we had her that she was only 2 ½
and I knew she had some puppy in her and wanted to play
but just couldn’t. Now that she is at a more realistic
weight I can’t tell you the joy I get out of watching her
romp around. I’ve never had any animal win my heart
as quickly or completely as BU has done, she is laying on
the couch with me at 1 am as I am doing some work and
typing this. If I am in the house she is never more than
10 ft from me. I work from home and she sleeps under my
desk at my feet all day. I also have to do a lot of
running around, etc. throughout the day and she and
Chowder go with me 90% of the time, she loves her car
rides. I have three young sons – 11, 8, and 3 and
they all just love her and she is amazing with them.
I just wanted to drop you a quick line to let you know how
she is doing and to thank you for bringing us together. I
have wanted a bulldog for over 20 years since I was at
Butler – they were everywhere all the time – but had
recently priced them as low as $1500 from a breeder up to
$3995 at a Petland, considerably more than I was willing
to pay. Your adoption fee of $400 was a bargain when
compared to those prices and compared to what I have with
my BU BU Girl, the deal of the century.
Thank you for what you do!

Hi Mary,
Here are a few shots of our Sweet
Pea. We just LOVE her!!!! I can't thank you enough for
being so accommodating with the delay, and for helping
this little one join our family. Every night she falls
asleep with the kids, and then I transfer her to her
crate. She is so well mannered and sweet. She goes
everywhere with us. I was just kicked out of Starbucks
today because I had her in my jacket, so I am getting the
hang of where I can and can't take her. :) She is
the most wonderful addition to our family!!!! Thank
you!!!!
XO
Julie
Your home is beautiful and for having so many animals the
grounds are immaculate. So much work with so few hands!
I'm sure you are well aware how hard it is, but believe
me, people like myself appreciate it! On to Harley the
beauty! He is so red, he glows! After only a few hours
in his new forever home (yeah!) and with a little coaxing
(as he seems hesitant to cross over thresholds, enter
rooms), my other dog Beau just 'showed him' how it's done
and in he came and that's all it took! They are all all
fast buddies and that was my greatest wish. We'll work on
the skittishness with time and the jumping can be
redirected. He is so exhausted from playing he falls down
with a thud and then can't wait to get up again and check
out something one more time. I think my natural pet vet
will start him on raw food for his
skin
allergies and ear issues as he is already on really
good food, so that would be her next step. I have a lab
mix on raw food now and he has come around beautifully! I
will also start him on a
Omega 3
fatty acid fish tablet 2x per day as a matter of
course. Sometimes that's all it takes! If I can get them
to sit still long enough, I'll try and get a picture of
the trio and send it on. Thanks again for calling me back
so quickly and letting me adopt Harley! Sandy Moss

Hi Mary,
Hi Pals for Paws – I’m sending a picture and a note to let you
know that Chip is doing great!! We adopted him from you in Sept.
2008 at 10 weeks old. We named him Newman but he goes by Squirmy
because he is such a wiggle worm. He is on the right with his
brother Rico and sister Lucy (middle). They all have a ball
together running and playing. He is very tall and lanky at 15
lbs and is very fast. Lucy was also adopted from Pals for Paws
in Sept. 2005 (she was Sweet Pea). Thank you so much for saving
these precious babies for us!

Hi Mary,
Just wanted to let you know that Mickey Moose (puppy # 1) is
doing great. It's been 2 weeks since we got him and he has made
this his home from day one. He is extremely smart. Mickey can
sit, give paw, lay down, and we put a rope on the screen door so
he can open it and he amazed me cause he uses the rope. Working
on the come command. That one is taking a little longer. He is
doing great in his crate at night time. Not a peep out of him.
He loves playing with his brother. So far so good. They adjusted
nicely. Mickey went to the vet today and got his vaccinations
and a great report. He weighs 22 pounds already. Keep up the
great work on rescuing these animals. Take care. Sandra

Hello Mary,
It is hard to believe that we adopted our little puggle puppy
Bailey over a month ago (May 30th)! She has been a
wonderful puppy, and your early socialization and work with her
was a great help. We renamed her from Melody to Bailey the
day that we brought her home. Since then, she has put on
about 2 pounds and is growing quickly. She also has quite
a collection of puppy toys. We attached a recent picture
of Bailey.
She has learned to sit and lie down, and we are working on stay
now. She is also learning to walk on a leash; actually,
the walking part comes natural. It's walking without
pulling that will take some practice. We will be starting
puppy class with her in a few weeks, which should be a big help
for all of us.
Thank you again for all your hard work and for the chance to
make Bailey a member of our family!
Best regards,
Mark, Mary Lou, and Emily Shreffler

Mary,
i just wanted to send you a quick note and let you know that we
just adore the Rottie Makayla (we named her Ava since a neighbor
dog is named Makayla too!) that we got from you in
Noblesville on April 25th. She is still a little reserved and
low energy, but she has adapted to our home very well. She's
already had a vet checkup (all good), and will be starting puppy
classes in 2 weeks. Thank you so much for the work you do, and
for giving us an opportunity to adopt her. You've made more than
just a dog happy!
I've attached a recent picture of her. Incidentally, the Vet
said by the growth stage of her teeth, she is somewhere between
6-7 months old...she'll be a little undersized, but that's fine
with us.
Also, if you ever hear of any of her siblings needing
re-adopted, please let us know. We may consider another dog at
some point anyway, but would definitely not pass up a picking up
one of her brothers/sisters.
Thanks again
John and Shelly

Petey is still doing great! I wanted to send you some
recent pictures of him with the other pets, and let you know the
crew is still doing great. We are leaving for our
wedding/honeymoon on April 27th, and will be gone for two weeks.
I'm a little worried about leaving him, but he'll be with Louie
the whole time. How are adoptions going? I hope all is well on
your end...and Petey says "woof"!!!

Happy New Year!
I hope everything is good for you.
Dallas is doing real good he is about 35lbs. slightly bigger
then we thought he would be, but we love him just the same.
we got him a little brother and he could not be happier.
Thanks again for being such a wonderful person.

Hi Mary,
Remember us? We picked up "T-Rex" from you sometime in August.
Well, we renamed him Gabe, short for Gabriel. He is a great dog!
He enjoys trying his best to bully Roxie, our Boston, but Roxie
doesn't let him get away with much. They have taken to snuggling
more during the colder temperatures.

|

I just wanted to let you girls know Dallas is doing great!
he is now 21 lbs and the vet said everything is good. she
estimated him a little older by a month.
He has been a nice addition to our family
THANK YOU

Hi
Mary,
Here is a couple of pics of Tinker Bell. We are so excited that
everything checked out at vet today! We have already fell so in
love with her, all of us.
Doogie is coming along well with her presents. It is sorta funny
actually. We thought he would be the biggest problem accepting
her but she lays in his little extra bed. her favorite place to
be if one of us is not holding her, and he comes over wanting to
lay there and she grows at him and he runs away. He runs like a
coward, we can't believe this b/c he always ran the roost when
others dogs visited. They will love each other eventually. (work
in progress)
Anyway, a couple of pics for you. Thank you for all that you do.
We collected what we have that we can't use anymore and will
send to you on Friday along with the check for Tinker Bell.
Thank you for cutting her cost, it helps us a lot, she is in a
good home and we already love her dearly. We will try to find
other ways to help make up for some of it. To be honest, I
always loved animals, but my daughter Courtney has been a total
inspiration on what is going on out there with puppy mills and
such. She is an amazing girl, and she wants to make things
better for all the animals out there suffering. I am so proud
she is my girl.
Please let us know if there is ever anything we can do to help.
I know we have some distance between us but if there is anything
we can help with we will try.
Take care,
A B

HI! I doubt if you remember us, we got a dog from you about 18
months ago. His name is Renegade he is a black lab. I just
wanted you to know what a great guy he is! He is the most
lovable, happy guy, we could not be happier! He takes a run
every day with me to the woods! You only have to tell him
something one time and then he is trained! What aJOY! Thanks,

I wanted to let you know that Stella and Reese are very happy.
They visit each other almost nightly and go for walks with us.
Stella has about 9 outfits now and loves wearing her dresses.
She is a very girly girl and prances on her leash when we take
her for walks in her new dresses. She loves to show them off.
She even puts her head in the hole when we are trying to get her
changed. She is very spoiled and even has her own pillow on the
bed to sleep by her mommy.
Reese is happy too. He loves the kids and has learned to fetch a
football for my son. He has a little blue nerf football just for
him to play with. He is very protective of the family and house.
He enjoys Stella's company when she comes over and even waits
for her to get a drink first while he waits next to her after a
walk. They are so cute together.
Thanks so much for helping us complete our family with such
wonderful pets. We have told everyone how great you all are to
have treated these dogs with such care and love.

Mary,
It has been three and a half years now since we adopted our
dog Enzo (was Malcome) from Pals for Paws. Enzo is doing great.
My wife and I had a baby boy four weeks ago (our first child)
and Enzo has been great with his new little brother! I’ve
attached a picture of the two of them.
Thanks again Mary, our family wouldn’t be complete without
your help.
Sincerely,

Hi Lani and Mary,
We just wanted to write to you about our trip to Iowa and
let you know that we have a nice new home.
We enjoyed many new places and experiences along the way. We
got to stop about every hour and get out and play. Wow did that
make us tired. We had a nice place in the backseat right by our
new mommy and daddy. Sometimes we had to fight a little over the
space, but most of the time we got along real well and enjoyed
cuddling up.
When we got home we played and ate some supper. Then we took
a three hour nap. After that we got to meet a bunch of new
friends because lots of neighbors came over to meet us. What a
friendly neighborhood. They could not believe we were only 8
months old! But we did hear them all say we were so cute and
doing very well.
Last night we slept through the night. Traveling really made
us tired. We have been on three walks already this a.m. and mom
and dad are teaching us new things. We are trying very hard to
learn and enjoy our time alone with each of them. Sometimes when
we get together to learn, we just annoy each other, so mom and
dad are working with us separately. We heard them say that we
are ornery and every single thing is new to us so they said
something about patience. (Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah). We have
discovered that we can see ourselves in their basement window
and we really like running over to it. We also have a new game
called “fetch”. We like running after something, but do not like
to pick it up and bring it back. We figure if they want it, they
should go get it!
We really appreciate your saving us from the bad man. It is
people like you who make the world a better place. We thank God
for you and the good work you do. You have saved so many puppies
like us and our tails cannot wag enough when we think about you.
Because our lives have forever changed, we did not want to think
about the past. So we have changed our names and really enjoy
them. We responded to them right away. I decided that I did not
want to be called Gracie, so my new name is very queen like. It
is Isabella and I am going to be called Izzy. My brother’s name
is Dooley and he is going to be called Dooley! We do not want to
forget you, but we want to start fresh.
We are attaching some photos of us from yesterday. We will be
sending more along the way. Thank you again for saving our lives
and helping us to find our new home. We are so grateful that we
got to stay together.
Your pals, with really big paws, forever,
Izzy and Dooley

Hello Pals for Paws!
I just wanted to send you a quick update on our family.
Stella has been with us for so long now, we can't remember
when she wasn't. It did take her a long time to get used to
house manners, but she got there about 6 months ago, like a
light went on. After several Ipods, watches, shoes, and stuffed
animals, she has finally figured out that chewing is not as much
fun as just relaxing and playing with her appropriate toys. She
does not need to be crated anymore at any time, and is just the
perfect companion. She has provided us with so much love. Her
only time on the floor is spent getting from bed to bed, couch
to couch, eating or playing. She is constantly in the car on
rides with us, too. She's quite the companion to my daughter who
is now 10, and my son, who has taught her to fetch her favorite
stuffed animal (the last one she chose not to destroy). She
drops it right at his feet over and over, endlessness awaiting
him to throw it again. She's hilarious. I don't think I've ever
seen a terrier fetch exactly like a retriever, but she does it
beautifully. And, she can catch ANYTHING mid air.
I have attached a recent picture from February of this year.
We lost her best friend, Kali (our yellow lab - also adopted
at age 6) to a sudden bloat a couple months ago. Stella was
really sad, and so were we. We are waiting for a while to add
another dog, so we can get over the loss of Kali, but we will be
checking your dogs, because we believe in rescue. Stella is our
youngest of 5 dogs over 15 years, all of whom we rescued.
Mary Helen, I just wanted you and your organization to know
that we appreciate what you do, and that we absolutely love
Stella. I know you were not the most excited about our
communication at first, but I just wanted to again assure you
that our home was indeed the right place for her to be! Thanks
for everything you do for these animals.
Take care.

We
got Phoebe (aka Tori) two years ago from Mary. Just had
to send an update on her. She is fine and just a great pet
to have around. There is always a lap to sit on and just be
loved. Phoebe still loves to ride in the car and take long
walks.
Thank you Lela & Becky...

Hi
Nikki -
Cali is doing wonderfully. We have not had one ounce of trouble
with her. She and our little dachshund, Maggie, get along great.
When we got to our house - Cali sniffed around for a little
while - then she and Maggie started playing. They must have
played for an hour and a half non-stop! Our cat, Francine, likes
Cali because Cali doesn't bother her. Maggie plays with Francine
every chance she can get - sometimes getting a little too rough.
Cali has seen Francine - has even sniffed her - but has no
interest in her.
I did take her to our vet just so Cali could get to know her and
the smells of the place without having to get any shots or
anything unpleasant - a nice visit, I guess. I had done some
checking online and my vet agreed with me - we believe that Cali
has some Jack Russel in her - but also something else, too,
because of her calm nature. Her coloring is definately
dachshund. She is the sweetest thing and we just can't believe
anyone would give her up! She's been to work with me all week
and did just fine there, too.
I've have taken a few pictures of her and Maggie together. I'll
attach them to this email.

 Hey,
here are some pictures of Daisy! She's doing a lot
better, she's not as timid around men anymore. She's
come along way in only a couple weeks!
Thanks,

Merry Christmas!
 I
just wanted to drop you a line to send you an update on
our sweet littledoggy - Miss Sally Rene Harrold! "Silly
Sally", as we call her, loved camping this past summer
and going on nightly walks with her daddy. She
continues to be such a wonderful part of our family and
we are so very thankful that you rescued her -- it seems
as though she was rescued just for us! We love her and
thank you so much for everything that you do!
Sincerely,

Hi
everyone at pals for paws / Julie.
My
forever family is great. I am a spoiled big boy and I
love to lounge around on my moms Egyptian cotton
sheets. I am a very good boy in the house and I get toys
and rawhides all the time. I get to eat the best of the
best food and I have gained some weight. I look great.
My mom says that she is the first person that I have
ever owned. That is because I am real smart and I kind
of try to run things. I was so excited Christmas morning
that I could hardly contain my excitement, because Santa
brought me presents too. I love my toys. Thank you for
finding me the very best family and I know now that I am
here to stay and my family and I feel very blessed. Here
are some pictures of me. She only made me put on the
antlers for a picture for you guys. I did not love the
antlers.
God Bless you
all,
Sarge (Kathy

Hello
 I
would like to thank Pals for paws for the great job
there doing in saving our canine friends and finding
them wonderful homes. Also I would like to thank Linda
Fritts for she was the one that I worked with when I
adopted Sydney (he was known then as Nicholas) his ID#
was2005-209 we adopted him on Dec 16 2005 he was about 3
months old. Sydney is now just over 2yrs old and has
just been the biggest joy to our family. Our other
Aussie (Casey, who is a rescue dog too) and Sydney are
like brother and sister now, they are connected at the
hip so to speak. We have a great time taking them trail
riding and camping with our horses, its there favorite
thing to do. I have attached some pics of them out
enjoying the trail rides which include swimming in the
creeks and ponds along the trail. They also love to
chase the squirrels and rabbits along the trail too.
They also enjoy lounging under the shade trees in the
summer, but when the sun starts going down they spool up
and start playing chase. Sydney loves to be the one that
is always being chased. When he was little he had a hard
time
 keeping
away from Casey's speed but as he grew faster and
stronger now he has given Casey a good run for her
money. They run and play in the woods several times a
day playing there game of tag. They are so much fun to
watch, they keep us laughing with there stunts and
games. Sydney has become quite the little frisbee dog
too, he will outlast Casey playing frisbee every time.
Anyways, I had come across his old adoption paperwork
and wanted to share with Linda and the whole pals for
paws team another success story that you all made
possible. Sydney is spoiled rotten and has the life of
luxury now.
A big thanks from our family to yours, keep up the great
work your doing because these little guys are worth
it!!!!
Thanks
Robin and James

Hi,
We
thought you'd be curious to know how "Harold" is doing with us.
Well, he's GREAT! We named him Baxter and he's growing a bit -
twenty pounds now - and is very well behaved. Our grandchildren
loved him when we took him to Pittsburgh to visit. He travels
beautifully in the car (sleeps most of the time) and we seldom
have to use the crate now, except when we go away without him.
He's a good sleeper, and for the past five nights he's slept
in a large dog bed in our bedroom. He wakes us up at 7:30 on the
dot, and spends most of his day keeping track of Barb and I. It
bothers him when the two of us are on different levels or in
different rooms, especially in the evening when he wants to
settle down in his smaller dog bed which we keep in the den near
the TV.
He's smart, or at least we think so, and knows how to sit and
lay down, but he's not good at coming when called unless there's
a dog bowl involved. Stay and Come are the next projects.
He's housebroken, and in fact it was almost too easy. He's
only had two accidents in the house since he's been with us, but
of course we keep him on a regular schedule.
I attached a photo of him for your files. We love him so
much. We think he's in love too, but it's with the four month
old black lab Ruby who lives next door!
Regards,
Tom and Barbara and Baxter

I
just wanted to drop you a note to let you know I am sending you
a package of information on the separation anxiety product and
the flea product I told you about when I picked up Sunny. We
should know where things stand as far as samples and "programs"
for the flea product soon after the first of the year so I will
keep you posted!
As for Sunny, I thought I'd update you on how she's doing!
Things are going great! I couldn't have asked for a more
wonderful dog so I thank you for taking her in and helping me
find her! After we had our first visit to the vet 2 weeks ago,
we found out that yes, she was extremely hypothyroid just like
you had mentioned. She is now back on her meds daily and on
tablets to keep her skin soft so her belly can continue to heal.
She is finally starting to play with her toys and really feel
comfortable around the house. We spent the first two weeks with
her as my shadow, but now she's really finding her independence
and its neat to see her relax! She loves hanging out on the farm
playing with the other dogs and just being outside! Everyone
absolutely loves her! She goes back in on Monday to the vet for
a microfilaricide treatment and to check out a lump on her
belly. After my vet spoke to the vet at Noah's Ark, they decided
they wanted to be precautionary with one last treatment to be
sure the heartworms are totally gone. He also thinks that the
fatty lump on her belly is just due to being hypothyroid and its
nothing to worry about, but we're going to biopsy it just to be
safe. So, we had to push her spay back to the middle of
December. I keep telling Sunny to stick with it because by the
first of the year, she will be a new, healthy dog!
I've attached our newest "Family" picture! I'll keep you
posted on how things go at the vet!
Have a great day!

Hi:
Kaylee is doing well. She has alot of difficulty with the
crate, however. Otherwise, she is OK. She loves everybody, and
everybody loves her. I've attached a few pictures we took last
week.
We received her rabies vaccination certification -- thanks.
Regards,
Rick

Just thought I would give you an update. My grand daughter
changed the puppy's name to Maya ( the lead dog from the mushing
team from the dog movie Eight Below). Maya loves the Bichon.
Maya spent the first night in a crate, but from then on, she and
Lexie have slept together on my bed. She got house trained
quickly because she would go out with the other dogs. My 14 yr
old Cattle dog is still the boss. I found a registered Border
Collie onlne that is IDENTCAL to Maya. I wrote the woman,
because I've never seen a Border that wasn't black and white.
She confirmed the pup was full blooded and parents were black
and white. I've included a picture of that California dog.
Maya has been a joy to my family. She was really sick in the
beginning. Two rounds of antibiotics for the kennel cough. But
great now. Up to 30 pounds and long lanky legs. I have an acre
fenced and she and Lexie chase until the are exhausted and we
walk ever night after I get home from work. Keep up the good
work. This puppy was just what I wanted.

Thank you for rescueing Jazz (Willow)
from a Kentucky shelter a day before they were going to put her to
death. She has been a real joy and is spoiled rotten but hey that's why
I got her. She gets her daily walks and swims in her own private pool
when she feels like it. Thanks again
Marty
Hey
Mary,
Your Morgan is now Maddie. We changed because our good family
friend's last name is Morgan. But she looks so much healthier.
I'm so glad you were able to find her because she is part of the
family already. She loves it here on the farm.
thanks again
Kelsey H.

we are very glad to have her.
We have included some pictures of Sadie.
Thanks for allowing us to adopt Sadie.

Hello!
I
just wanted to send you this picture of our Sally Rene Harrold
(previously named "Echo"). We celebrated her 2nd Birthday this
evening with a trip to PetSmart and Ritter's Custard!
Since adopting Sally in September of 2005, she has brought us
incrediblejoy. Our children truly love her and she has become
our "camping buddy" when we spend weekends in our travel trailer
exploring Indiana.
Thank you so much for bringing Sally into our lives...she is an
important
part of our family!

| "Send a Rescue Person" |
Once I was a lonely dog, Just looking for a home.
I had no place to go, No one to call my own.
I wandered up and down the streets, in rain in heat and snow. I ate what
ever I could find, I was always on the go.
My skin would itch, my feet were sore, My body ached with pain. And no
one stopped to give a pat
Or to gently say my name.
I never saw a loving glance, I was always on the run. For people thought
that hurting me
was really lots of fun.
And then one day I heard a voice So gentle, kind and sweet, And arms so
soft reached down to me
And took me off my feet.
"No one again will hurt you Was whispered in my ear." "You'll have a
home to call your own
where you will know no fear"
"You will be dry, you will be warm, you'll have enough to eat" "And rest
assured that when you sleep, your dreams will all be sweet".
I was afraid I must admit, I've lived so long in fear.
I can't remember when I let A human come so near.
And as she tended to my wounds And bathed and brushed my fur She told me
bout the rescue group
And what it meant to her.
She said, "We are a circle, A line that never ends".
"And in the center there is you protected by new friends".
"And all around you are the ones that check the pounds, And those that
share their home after you've been found".
"And all the other folk are searching near and far.
"To find the perfect home for you, where you can be a star".
She said, "There is a family, that's waiting patiently,
and pretty soon we'll find them, just you wait and see".
"And then they'll join our circle they'll help to make it grow, so
there'll be room for more like you,
who have no place to go".
I waited very patiently, The days they came and went. Today's the day I
thought, my family will be sent.
Then just when I began to think It wasn't meant to be, there were people
standing there just gazing down at me.
I knew them in a heart beat, I could tell they felt it too. They said,
"We have been waiting for a special dog like you".
Now every night I say a prayer to all the gods that be. "Thank you for
the life I live and all you've given me.
But most of all protect the dogs in the pound and on the street. And
send a Rescue Person
to lift them off their feet".
