The Home for the Holidays
kick-off Christmas

The Home for the Holidays kick-off Christmas event was held Saturday, November 26th at Pet Supplies Plus in Kokomo. Patti Host was on hand to personalize stockings, ornaments, and bowls for the pets! Many gift items were for sale, and of course, Santa Paws was there to pose for photos with his furry friends!

Our Howl-o-ween Adoption Event held at Petco on October 29th was an AMAZING success!

Twelve dogs were adopted during the event! Many of them were victims of Hurricane Katrina from Mississippi and Louisiana. Many cute dogs and their equally cute owners came out to participate in the costume contest and to have their photos taken by our Pals for Paws photographers!

Hogs for Dogs

Pals for Paws, Texas Roadhouse, and Harley-Davidson of Kokomo co-hosted the first annual "HOGS 4 DOGS" bike rally and fundraiser on September 3rd, 2005. The event featured live music by local bands "The Boondock Saints" and "Captain Slappy". Activities at the event included a Dog Wash, Pet Photos on a Harley, Kid's Crafts, Merchandise Booths, Raffles, Adoptable Dogs, and more! All proceeds from the event were donated to Pals for Paws to be used to care for abandoned and abused animals in our community.

New transportation for the animals

Pals for Paws recently purchased an inexpensive, used cargo van. It has over 170,000 miles on it, but it is reliable enough to transport our animals to and from adoption events, spay and neuter clinics, and veterinary appointments. We have needed a vehicle like this for a long time, and we were happy to finally find one that we could afford. A special thanks goes out to Pals for Paws supporters Cathy, Ned, and Linda for purchasing the magnets for our van!!! The magnets give the van a customized look and provide great advertising for our organization.

Anna Matsuo's Food Drive

Girl Scout Troop #985 of Hazel Dell Elementary School in Noblesville, Indiana is conducting a pet food drive for Pals for Paws. Anna Matsuo came up with idea for the food drive. She wanted to help the animals that Pals for Paws recently received as part of the Hurricane Katrina rescue effort. Anna suggested her idea to her Girl Scout Troop and she also helped to organize the event. Pals for Paws wants to express our heartfelt thanks to Anna and all of the Girl Scouts for their hard work on behalf of the rescued animals from Mississippi!
